Bigpond is server-based email that is service Australia Telstra users since many years. Telstra users’ biggest problem is they are unable to decide which server settings is suitable to access Bigpond webmail.

Difference between Bigpond MAP and POP server.
1. IMAP: Imap server-based email that sync by single or multiple devices, any changes made in email account like read, delete or reply will be updated in every Bigpond accessible device.

2. POP: Pop sever based is totally difference from IMAP i.e. any changes done in POP based Bigpond mail account like delete, reply, read will be applicable on same device only.

Recommended Bigpond IMAP Settings
• Choose Account Type: IMAP
• Incoming Mail address: Imap.telstra.com
• Incoming Mail Port Number: 993
• Security Type: SSL/TLS

Recommended Bigpond IMAP SMTP settings
• Outgoing Mail address: Smtp.telstra.com
• Outgoing Mail Port Number: 465 or 587
• Authentication: Must be On or Check mark

User Bigpond username password or app specific password for extra layer of security for mail account.

Recommended Bigpond POP Settings
• Choose Account Type: POP
• Incoming Mail address: Pop.telstra.com
• Incoming Mail Port Number: 995
• Security Type: SSL/TLS

Recommended Bigpond POP SMTP settings
• Outgoing Mail address: Smtp.telstra.com
• Outgoing Mail Port Number: 465 or 587
• Authentication: Must be On or Check mark

If imap.telstra.com or Pop.telstra.com does not work than try mail.bigpond.com while setup Bigpond webmail account. If client based mail app or client server based account like Gmail, yahoo or outlook does not accept your Bigpond server settings than contact Bigpond Support Number.
